VOLUNTEERS

Parents and community members may be involved in all area of the EHS program. Some will want to be involved in many ways while others may only participate in one or two things. Volunteers will want to consider what is meaningful to them when choosing how to volunteer. There are many ways to help these are just a few ideas.

  • Working on a project at home.
  • Helping staff at a community event.
  • Serving on Policy Council
  • Serving on Health Services Advisory Committee
  • Taking care of plants, the lawn or washing windows
  • Assisting with Toddler Time clean-up
  • Sharing ideas and customs from another culture
  • Assisting with filing, copying or answering the phone
  • Participating in the Annual Program Self Assessment
  • Attending a training and reporting back to other parents
  • Building shelves, installing bulletin boards

Practically anyone can volunteer in one way or another. The type of volunteer work that you do depends on several factors:

The type of work you are interested in doing

  • The experience you have in the area in which you wish to volunteer. Some aspects of volunteer work at MSEHS may require that the volunteer has specific experience or training in the area.
     
  • The availability of volunteer work at the MSEHS center. This fluctuates depending on the number of projects or activities occurring, as well as the current number of available volunteers.
