PLAYGROUPS

Playgroups are designed for children and their parents.  They occur at the Early Head Start center and include a meal or snack, tooth brushing, free play, painting and other art projects, songs, sand and water play, play dough and lots of other special activities.  Children get to participate in new experiences, play with other children and learn new things.  Parents enjoy observing their children, participating in the group activities and getting acquainted with other EHS famillies.

Families with children of all ages can participate.  Parents can attend playgroups before their baby is born or begin attending after he or she arrives.  When several new or soon to be parents attend, staff may facilitate a small group discussion or provide infornation the parents request.  It is always good to share experiences or ideas with others who have - or are about to have - young children.

Playgroups (socializations) occur once each week in five-week sessions.  After a short break, another five-week session begins.  Playgroups are offered at a variety of times and families can select the time that works with their schedule.
